Arsenal fixture schedule shows why Liverpool should worry in Premier League title race

Arsenal’s remaining Premier League away fixtures will provide Mikel Arteta with hope that his side can catch Liverpool in the title race. The Gunners’ upturn in form over the Christmas period has elevated them to second in the top-flight and they look primed to push league leaders Liverpool all the way.

A 3-1 win over Brentford on Thursday was Arsenal’s third consecutive league triumph. Arteta’s side appear to have finally found some consistency away from the Emirates Stadium.

That will provide plenty of momentum for Arsenal as they head into the second half of the season. Their remaining away schedule is much lighter than the first half of the campaign.

Arsenal will play Liverpool at Anfield and third-placed Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. However, their other trips are against six of the Premier League’s current bottom seven - although that includes a journey to Old Trafford.

Liverpool’s away fixtures are tougher. Arne Slot’s side still have to go to Forest, Chelsea, Manchester City, Bournemouth, Fulham, Aston Villa and Brighton. Brentford, who suffered only their second home defeat of the season against Arsenal, will also welcome Liverpool to the Gtech Community Stadium.

Many of those fixtures will test Liverpool’s resolve. Achieve positive results in the majority of them and they will surely be Premier League champions come the end of the season.
